Old Testament Theology – (TH 302)

Welcome & Introduction

Welcome to “Introduction to Old Testament Theology” at Covenant University. This comprehensive course is designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of the methodologies and currents in Old Testament theology, enabling them to engage deeply with the biblical text and apply its teachings to their lives and ministries. Throughout this course, students will examine the nature and attributes of God as presented in the Old Testament, appreciate the divine hand behind creation, and explore the endowments God provided for humanity. Our primary objective is to empower students with the necessary knowledge and skills to analyze and appreciate the significance of covenants in human relationships, both with God and one another.

Additionally, students will delve into the biblical view of the origin of sin and evil, investigating the complexities of this issue and the provisions made in the Old Testament for addressing it. This curriculum will equip students with a deeper understanding of the dynamics of worship, priesthood, prophecy, and sacrifices, all essential aspects of Old Testament theology. By engaging with these topics and exploring their implications for contemporary Christian life and ministry, students will develop a well-rounded and holistic understanding of the Old Testament, providing them with a solid foundation for further theological studies and the practical application thereof.
